Oxidation of Lignin-Carbohydrate Complex by Laccase/Co(salen) One-Pot Catalysis

Lignin-carbohydrate complex (LCC) is hybrid structures containing covalently linked moieties of lignin and carbohydrates. The nature amount LCC affect both industrial processes practical applications lignocellulosic biomass. Herein, the was isolated from bamboo by successive solvent extraction precipitation. effects mechanism oxidation respectively laccase, Co(salen), laccase/Co(salen) in presence molecular oxygen have been investigated composition analysis using standard National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) high-performance anion exchange chromatography (HPAEC), GPC, FTIR, 2D-HSQC NMR. We can conclude that one-pot catalysis modified such a way more carbohydrate removed with lower weight as shown GPC; catalytic treatments produced at side-chains cleavage ?-O-4', ?-?' ?-5' bonds LCC, benzyl-sugar ether, phenyl glycoside ?-ester FTIR NMR, especially after treatment. further insight degradation discussed light results obtained model compound coniferin.

We report herein the first photoredox-catalyzed intermolecular aryl- and heteroaryltrifluoromethylation of alkenes. Under the optimized conditions using Umemoto's reagent as a CF3 source, a wide range of styrenes can be readily difunctionalized, affording the corresponding trifluoromethylated adducts in up to 99% yield.
